Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays use ionizing radiation to produce an image digitally, offering images of the abdomen, chest, extremities, head, pelvis and spine. Digital x-rays produce 80% less radiation than traditional x-ray technology, reducing patient exposure. Additionally, the digital x-ray images can be enhanced using computer software for easier viewing.


How does it work?

X-ray beams pass through the body and are absorbed in different amounts depending on the density of the material they pass through. Dense materials, such as bone and metal, show up as white on X-rays. The air in the lungs shows up as black. Fat and muscle appear as shades of gray. The machine produces a safe level of radiation that passes through the patient’s body and records an image on a specialized plate.


What can I expect after treatment?

There is no downtime or recovery after an x-ray.
