Specialists in Mending Children’s Hearts
Illness, diagnostic tests, screenings, and blood draws can be scary for anyone, but are especially hard for children. The specialists at Deborah Heart and Lung Center understand the unique needs of children – and their parents – when it comes to diagnosing and treating pediatric heart conditions, whether a patient has congenital structural defects or issues with the electrical system that controls their heartbeat. In partnership with St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, our specially trained pediatric cardiology teams work together to diagnose and manage these conditions.
Our team of experienced, compassionate, and dedicated pediatric professionals provide excellent care specifically for our youngest patients. Historically, we were known for treating children around the world with cardiac issues through the Children of the World® program. Today, our board-certified pediatric cardiologists and pediatric nurse practitioners provide diagnostic outpatient evaluations for children suspected of having congenital or acquired heart disease.
In addition, our Preventive Cardiology Program is proactive to screen, diagnose, treat, and prevent conditions that may lead to early onset of cardiovascular disease. With cardiac ultrasound or fetal echocardiography, our Fetal Cardiology Program is able to diagnose potential fetal heart conditions and coordinate treatment plans for when a baby is born.
