Running Analysis Program

Patient Using Treadmill In Hospital Physiotherapy Department

The Running Analysis Program offered at Deborah Heart and Lung Center Physical Therapy with services by Ivy Rehab is designed to cater to anyone who wants to improve their running performance. This program doesn’t apply solely to athletes and lifelong runners looking to improve their personal records or run longer distances — patients who suffer from lower extremity injuries such as knee, leg, hip, ankle or foot pain can benefit, as well.

As our feet strike the ground while we walk or run, forces from the ground reciprocally act back on our bodies. These impactful forces to the musculoskeletal system can result in wear and tear of the joints, muscles, and ligaments and contribute to injury development while causing pain in already tender areas.

The Running Analysis Program offers unique, state-of-the-art methodologies for analyzing your gait patterns, correcting the way you’re running, and allowing you to run or walk with less painful ground reaction forces. Our program includes thorough gait analysis, high-tech slow-motion video evaluation, and dedicated one-on-one attention from a specially trained physical therapist. Every running analysis program is unique, as it will be designed specifically for your condition, training, and goals. In addition, you will have access to an antigravity treadmill system as part of your rehabilitation program, in order to reduce the amount of weight your lower extremities are supporting as you walk or run.

Conditions that can be treated as part of the running analysis program include, but are not limited to:

  • Knee pain
  • Low back pain
  • Hip pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Lower extremity tendinitis
  • Ankle injuries
  • Foot injuries
  • Iliotibial band injuries
  • Shin splints
  • Stress fractures
