An MRI is a highly specialized diagnostic tool that creates detailed images of the body without using radiation. They’re used to diagnose:

• Aneurysms, stenosis, occlusions and carotid arteries in the head and neck
• Diseases of the central nervous system, including spinal cord deterioration, tumors of the brain and multiple sclerosis
• Conditions of the heart, liver, kidney adrenal glands, male and female pelvis, and abdominal blood vessels
• Disorders of bones, knees and joints
• Conditions of cartilage, ligaments, bone, muscle, and fat
• Shoulder disorders, including impingement syndrome and rotator cuff tears

Deborah has invested in a state-of-the-art MAGNETOM^® Sola 1.5T wide bore scanner with BioMatrix technology. Among its features are:

• Automatic adjustment to each unique body type addressing patient anatomical and physical differences
• Precision scanning to deliver high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and treatment
• A large, spacious opening for comfortable scanning, reducing anxiety, and noise common to MRIs
• Fast scans to shorten exam times without compromising quality, especially for those who cannot reliably hold their breath
• Full-body or targeted scans
• Upgraded software for ultra-sophisticated cardiac MRIs only available at select facilities

How does it work?

If your doctor orders an MRI for you, you will make an appointment through Deborah’s centralized scheduling department or at the Medical Office Building on Deborah’s campus across from the main hospital.

MRI scans vary in length and can average between 30-60 minutes or longer depending on your specific physician’s order. After the technologist completes the pre-MRI screening you will be escorted into the MRI room for your test. The scanning table will be lowered for comfortable access so you can easily lie down. You will be provided with special headphones and asked what type of music you might like to listen to during the scan.

The technologist will explain the procedure and let you know what to expect during the scan. Once completed, your ordering doctor will receive a copy of the results after they have been interpreted by our medical staff.
