The VIVO System is used on patients with ventricular tachycardia, which is an abnormal and dangerous heart rhythm in the lower chambers of the heart. These patients often benefit from a cardiac ablation which delivers radiofrequency energy through the Stereotaxis Remote Navigation System to the point of arrhythmia. This energy “ablates” or blocks the irregular signals in the lower chambers of the heart.
VIVO is a “GPS for the Heart.” The VIVO System provides GPS-like mapping which pinpoints the exact spot where the heart arrhythmia is located. This map is a highly detailed 3D image of the heart with a superimposed activation map unique to each patient and provides precise navigation tools for Deborah’s electrophysiologists who then will perform a cardiac ablation.
The VIVO system mapping is done prior to an ablation, and is performed under light sedation. In addition to pinpointing the exact spot where the arrhythmia is, the VIVO System reduces procedure time, improves patient safety, and improves patient outcomes.
