Community Outreach

The goal of Deborah Heart and Lung Center’s Community Outreach Program is to provide health screenings and free speakers to educate the public on cardiovascular risk factors, and to help them live healthy lifestyles.

Along with screenings and speaker topics, the Community Outreach Program distributes information on:

  • Heart healthy cooking and eating tips
  • Heart healthy recipes
  • Managing blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Stroke
  • Heart disease
  • Women’s heart health

Screenings and speaker programs can be provided throughout New Jersey depending on location, number of people attending, and timing.

Available screenings include:

  • Blood pressure
  • Pulse oximetry
  • Sleep apnea
  • Body fat analysis

Education on pharmaceutical seminar

Physician and Clinical Staff Speakers Bureau

Physician and clinical staff members from Deborah can address a number of general and specific topics related to:

  • Heart, lung, or vascular issues
  • Stroke (awareness, prevention, recognition, diagnosis, and treatment)
  • Diabetes
  • Sleep disorders
  • Women’s heart health
  • Balance issues
  • Nutrition
  • Developing and living a healthy lifestyle

The Community Outreach Department provides speakers to different community groups. A minimum of 25 people is required for a speaker to attend a group meeting.

Foundation Speakers

As the fundraising arm of the hospital, Deborah Hospital Foundation staff continuously create partnerships and build relationships with organizations and individuals in the region. Staff are available to address clubs, groups, or associations and can also meet with individuals interested in supporting the Deborah mission. Speakers are available to provide information about the hospital’s incredible journey and its current reputation as a renowned cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular center of excellence consistently ranked a top hospital in the state of New Jersey for patient satisfaction and cardiac outcomes.
