Can Being Healthy Make You Sexier?

Can Being Healthy Make You Sexier?

There are good reasons that a healthy man is a sexy man. A healthy body and mind gives you confidence, energy and an overall zest for life. Being healthy can make you look and feel better. It also allows you to do things that make you fun to be around.

So the next time you want to ignore your health or plan to skip a doctor’s appointment, think about what you’re giving up. Paying attention to your health not only improves how you feel but may even make you more attractive and desirable. That’s an added bonus that’s definitely worth taking advantage of—don’t you think?

Here are 6 seemingly non-sexy things that may be sexier than you think:

  1. Are prostate exams sexy? Yes they are, but not in the way you may think. Having a healthy prostate means your plumbing is working properly. Ignoring this important annual exam may lead to erectile dysfunction and difficulties urinating.
  2. Is skipping dessert sexy? Oh yes! Not only does limiting indulgent desserts keep your body trim, but it also helps you keep your blood sugar in a healthy range. Uncontrolled diabetes may lead to blindness, nerve damage, heart disease and erectile dysfunction.
  3. Are vaccines sexy? Absolutely! Having the flu, pneumonia or COVID-19 can really put a damper on your love life (a runny nose is NOT sexy). Other transmissible diseases are certainly not sexy either. Talk to your doctor to find out which vaccines are right for you.
  4. Is eating a salad sexy? Eating any type of vegetable may up your sex appeal! A well-rounded diet full of fruits, vegetables and lean protein helps keep skin, teeth and eyes healthier, supports muscles, strengthens bones and helps keep you full while maintaining a healthy weight.
  5. Is sleeping sexy? Sleeping 7 to 9 hours each night is sexy because it keeps you looking and feeling rested. Getting enough quality sleep on a regular basis also helps you stay healthier overall. Napping in the middle of the afternoon while channel surfing? Not so sexy. If you’re doing it out of boredom, find something more active to do, like taking a walk. If it’s because you’re tired, focus on spending more time in bed at night.
  6. Is owning a pet sexy? Who doesn’t love a man walking a dog? Not only does a pet help you socialize, but pet ownership may actually be good for your health. A pet encourages you to get more exercise, which helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol and keeps your weight in check. Pets also help ease stress, anxiety and loneliness, and they may boost your mood. That can certainly make you sexier!
