Deborah Heart and Lung Center Earns Healthgrades 2024 Top Hospitals Award For Outstanding Patient Experience

Browns Mills, N.J.—Deborah Heart and Lung Center earns Healthgrades 2024 Outstanding Patient Experience Award™. Healthgrades, an organization dedicated to helping consumers make data-driven decisions about their healthcare providers, recognized Deborah as one of the nation’s top hospitals.

In New Jersey, Deborah was one of only three hospitals recognized for Outstanding Patient Experience. Nationwide, 388 providers in 46 states earned awards for patient experience.

Each year, Healthgrades evaluates Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey data across multiple patient experience measures from short-term, acute care visits to identify the institutions displaying an unwavering commitment to prioritizing a positive patient experience.

For its 2024 list, Healthgrades evaluated 2,575 hospitals that submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), covering admissions from January 2022 to December 2022.

Based on its analysis, Healthgrades identified three areas that best predict whether a patient will recommend a hospital to friends and family: doctor communication, nurse communication and clear communication about care when discharged.
