BioMimic Stents

StentBioMimics 3D® stents revolutionized traditional straight stent designs into a patented three-dimensional helical shape, more closely mimicking the natural geometry of the human vascular system. This technology is designed to enhance clinical performance by improving flow conditions and biomechanical performance of stented vessels. The advanced design of the 3D stent is intended to provide more flexibility, making its unique design of particular importance in the femoropopliteal artery.


How does it work?

The BioMimics 3D stent has a unique helical curvature, promoting secondary flow, which has a protective effect on the endothelium. The helical shape of the 3D stent is also designed to enable coil-spring shortening during knee flexion mitigating the risk of stent compression that can lead to stent fracture and chronic vascular injury.
