Browns Mills, NJ – Deborah Heart and Lung Center proudly celebrated the completion of a multi-year $108 Million Capital Expansion and Renovation Project. Deborah100: The Project, was started in 2022 to coincide with the 100^th anniversary celebration of Deborah. This investment represents one of the most significant transformations in our organization’s history, with the Olsen Family Patient Care Pavilion serving as a cornerstone of this overall project.

This multi-phase, campus expansion project was designed to enhance the hospital’s facilities and services. Phase Two, now completed, represents 22,350 square feet of renovations to existing hospital units: 3 Main, 4 Main, 4 Lesser and the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs. The project converted 3 Main to an Outpatient Procedural Unit (OPPU), with 13 treatment spaces; 4 Main now features 12 private patient suites; and 4 Lesser now features 12 private patient suites (three are isolation/negative pressure rooms). New state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) and Electrophysiology (EP) labs were installed, representing a 650 square foot renovation.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, which took place this afternoon, was attended by hospital leadership, board members, donors, government officials and community supporters.

Phase One of the project, The Olsen Family Patient Care Pavilion, is a state-of-the-art, three-story addition that significantly enhances the hospital’s capacity and patient care capabilities. Opened in July of 2025, the new pavilion includes 36 private inpatient suites, 18 of which are dedicated to critical care and 18 medical/surgical. With this new addition, the hospital’s total licensed bed count will reach 95, increasing its ability to provide compassionate, high-quality specialized care to patients with cardiac, pulmonary and vascular conditions.

This expansion and renovation was financed by a U.S. Department of Agriculture low-interest loan for rural development and a Capital Fundraising Campaign by the Deborah Hospital Foundation that raised the balance of funds.

The event featured guided tours of the new and renovated areas of the hospital, allowing guests to see firsthand the transformative impact this innovative project will have on patient care.
