Deborah Announces Appointment of Gregory S. Domer, MD as Chair, Vascular Surgery

Paul Burns, MD, Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Deborah Heart and Lung Center has announced the appointment of Gregory S. Domer, MD, of Moorestown, as new Chair, Vascular Surgery, and Vascular Surgery Fellowship Director.

Dr. Domer joins Deborah from St. Luke’s University Health Network where he served as Program Director, Vascular Surgery Fellowship, and as an Attending Vascular Surgeon. Prior to that he was Medical Director of Vascular Surgery at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center; Program Director, Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine; and spent time in a variety of vascular surgery positions at Crozer Keystone Health System and Nazareth Hospital. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Temple University School of Medicine.

A graduate of Arizona State University, Dr. Domer went to medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies; did his residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Medical Center; his Vascular Surgery fellowship at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson University Medical School; and served an Endovascular Fellowship at Union Medical Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Board certified in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Domer is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery, the American Society of Angiology, and the International Society for Vascular Surgery. Also certified in hyperbaric medicine, Dr. Domer holds numerous specialty training certifications. Besides surgery, his specialty interests include aortic and carotid disease, limb preservation interventions, and dialysis access.

Dr. Domer is a member of many vascular, and endovascular, national and international professional organizations, ensuring that he has access to information on the latest techniques, treatments, and procedures in his field. He has also been singled out multiple times by regional magazines and rating organizations as a “Top Doc.”

A prolific researcher and writer, Dr. Domer has been widely published in periodicals including Journal of Vascular Surgery, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Endovascular Today, and American Surgery, as well as contributions to many book chapters advancing knowledge in his field. In addition to being a sought-after speaker and presenter at national and international symposia, he has sat on numerous professional committees, and has participated in varied clinical trials.

Throughout his career Dr. Domer has spent considerable time and energy in mentoring and teaching the next generation of vascular surgeons, both through his teaching at the Temple University School of Medicine, his leadership of Fellowship Programs at the hospitals where he worked, and the professional organizations he participates in.
