New Phlebotomy & Pharmacy Technician Certification Programs Begin in January

Browns Mills, New Jersey – November 22, 2023 – Beginning in January, students at Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) will be able to complete certification programs in Phlebotomy and Pharmacy Technician on-site at Deborah Heart and Lung Center’s Browns Mills campus.  Students will have an accelerated learning experience, with both classroom instruction and hands-on learning offered concurrently on the campus of Deborah.

Combining Deborah’s clinical expertise and healthcare facilities with RCBC’s educational and career programs drove the new partnership, an example of how both organizations are committed to creating more ways for students to gain experience and career-relevant employment.  The new educational programs are also targeted to high-demand opportunities with health systems including Deborah.

“Educating the next generation of healthcare professionals is critical to the region in serving the healthcare needs of the community,” said Joseph Chirichella, president and CEO. “Providing classes and hands-on training simultaneously at the hospital will allow students to quickly complete their certificates and begin their healthcare careers.”

With the new partnership announcement Deborah is recommitting its desire to hire RCBC students both while in school and after completion. “Our experiences hiring RCBC students for many positions including clinical, culinary and information technology have been overwhelmingly successful,” Chirichella said.

RCBC President Dr. Michael A. Cioce reinforced Chirichella’s sentiments.  “RCBC has been focused on increasing hands-on, experiential learning opportunities so that students can learn from the best of both worlds – classroom theory and real-world experiences,” Dr. Cioce said.  “Providing classes at Deborah creates meaningful pathways into growing fields.”
