Congressman Kim Teams Up with Local Schools, Hospitals to Deliver Valentines to Health Care Heroes

During Valentine’s Day weekend, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) teamed up with students from Pemberton School District in Burlington County and Brick School District in Ocean County to deliver Valentine’s Day cards to New Jersey’s health care heroes.

“Our health care heroes have done so much for our country, and in these tough times it’s important to remind them how much their service means,” said Congressman Kim. “I want to thank everyone in Pemberton and Brick School Districts, and at Hackensack Meridian Health and Deborah Heart and Lung Center for their work to make this happen. It’s a reminder that thanking those who have saved lives during this pandemic is truly a community effort.”

Congressman Kim was joined on Friday at Deborah Heart and Lung Center by Jeff Havers, Superintendent, Pemberton Township Schools; Joseph Chirichella, President and CEO of Deborah Heart and Lung Center, and Joseph Manni, EVP Operations of Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Together, they delivered Valentine’s Day cards from special needs students from Pemberton School District.

“We were exceptionally touched that Pemberton Township school students made these beautiful Valentine’s for our staff,” said Joseph Chirichella, Deborah President and CEO. “They are being proudly displayed throughout the Hospital and are a reminder to our hard-working staff that they are appreciated for all their efforts during this past year. It was equally special to have Congressman Kim personally deliver the Valentine’s to us. Having our Congressman spend time listening to our front line employees meant a lot of us.”

Congressman Kim was joined on Saturday at Ocean Medical Center in Brick by Mayor John Ducey, Brick Schools Superintendent Dr. Tom Farrell, and Chief Hospital Executive at Ocean Medical Center, Jason Kreitner. Together, they delivered Valentine’s Day cards from students from Brick School District.

“We were honored to join Congressman Andy Kim, Mayor John Ducey and Brick Schools Superintendent Dr. Tom Farrell to celebrate Valentine’s Day with our frontline health care heroes,” says Jason Kreitner, FACHE, chief hospital executive of Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center. “The valentines were overwhelmingly thoughtful, and we are humbled by the tremendous support from our community. Thank you.”
