Barbara Chamberlain
Board Member
Having spent a career in healthcare – as a nurse, nursing administrator, educator, and lobbyist on behalf of nurses – I welcome my role on Deborah’s board, where my professional experience can help shape policy on behalf of the front-line caregivers in the Hospital’s high tech, acute-care floors.
Dr. Chamberlain, a retired registered nurse, previously served as the Coordinator of Government Affairs at the New Jersey State Nurses Association. She has had a long and varied career, including President of BJC Consultants; teaching positions at Wilmington University, Drexel University, Atlantic Cape Community College, Gloucester County College, and Stockton State College; Program Manager for Transforming Care at the Bedside and Director of Continuing Education at the New Jersey Hospital Association, various nursing and administrative roles at Kennedy Health System and a variety of consulting and key nursing positions throughout the region. She also honorably served as a Senior Nurse in the United States Air Force Reserve.
Barbara has her doctorate in nursing from Widener University, an MBA from Wilmington University, an MSN from the University of Pennsylvania, a BSN from Stockton State College and a BA from the school nursing program at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). She has held numerous leadership positions on professional service association boards, as well as serving on the Board of Trustees at both Widener and Rowan Universities.
