Celebrate #GivingTuesday in Support of Patient Care at Deborah Heart and Lung Center

This #GivingTuesday the Deborah Hospital Foundation will celebrate giving by asking all those who care about excellent patient care for all — regardless of their ability to pay — to show their support on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday on November 27 will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back. Founded in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y – a community and cultural center in New York City — #GivingTuesday inspired millions of people to give back and support the causes they believe in.

Deborah Hospital Foundation joined #GivingTuesday several years ago. The Foundation is the fundraising arm for Deborah Heart and Lung Center, an 85-bed specialty heart, lung, and vascular hospital which in 96 years has never given a bill to a patient, following in its founding motto “there is no price on life.” The Hospital is only one of three hospitals in the country with federal approval to not balance bill its patients. At the same time, the Hospital provides the highest level of cardiac care in the country, and is the highest rated hospital in New Jersey for patient satisfaction.

“We urge everyone who cares about quality healthcare for all to support the Foundation on #GivingTuesday,” said Daniel Loughrey, the Foundation’s Director of Annual Giving. “We believe our collective power to make a difference. Many small donations of $5 or $10 dollars together can add up to a large impact in someone’s life.”
