Celebrating Heart Month at The Enterprise Center
On Saturday, February 6th from 10am–2pm, Deborah Heart and Lung Center will host the 6th Annual Women’s Health EXPO at the Enterprise Center at Rowan College at Burlington County on Route 38 in Mt. Laurel.
Six Deborah physicians—representing various specialties—will join with a host of other health professionals to provide health screenings to the more than 1,000 women expected to attend.
“Each year we work in conjunction with the American Heart Association’s Wear Red Day,” notes Renee Bullock-Palmer, MD, Director of the Women’s Heart Center. “We want to raise awareness about the need to fight heart disease in women.”
Joining Dr. Palmer will be Denise Zingrone, DO, Assistant Director of the Women’s Heart Center at Deborah; Jenine Vecchio, MD, Director, The Diabetes Center at Deborah; Jennifer Mazzoni, DO, Attending, Cardiology; Naveep Brar, MD, Attending, Pulmonary; and Niya Jones, MD, Associate, Cardiology.
“By bringing together medical expertise in the fields of cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, and diabetes, we can really offer our visitors a full picture of what it takes for a woman to stay ‘heart healthy,’” Dr. Bullock-Palmer adds. “We are really looking forward to the one-on-one time with our visitors.”
Among the screenings Deborah’s staff will provide are blood pressures, glucose, body fast analysis, pulmonary function testing, balance, cholesterol/lipid panels, sleep apnea, asthma information, peripheral arterial disease assessment, bariatrics and wound center info, as well as lung cancer information. Additional screenings by Performance Health Chiropractor and the Burlington County Health Department will offer MyoVision scans and skin damage assessments.
Besides the health screenings, the EXPO features a wide range of wellness, health, and fitness activities for women of all ages, including pampering massages and bodywork from partners Rizzieri Aveda School and Massage Envy Spa; yoga and meditation from Yoga in the Pines; reiki by Yvonne Watkis; mini make-overs by RetroChic Beauty; healthy shakes from bgood; custom-tailored work-out plans from Soulscapes Fitness; blow-outs, extensions, and hair care from True Colors Hair Salon; and heart-healthy cooking demos from Rowan College at Burlington County’s Culinary Arts Department.
The new More101.1 FM will make sure to have some good tunes playing, with lots of prizes and give-aways. In addition, dozens of door prizes—including Coach purses—will be given out throughout the day.
A variety of vendors will be on hand at the EXPO, as well as a dozen premium partners who support Deborah’s health initiatives. Deborah sponsors—including the Freed Foundation, Boston Scientific, and Jansen Pharmaceuticals—have made the day possible, as well as event Lead Sponsor Wawa Corporation, who will provide delicious healthy-menu snacks for the first 700 women who attend.
