Pemberton Township (Burlington Times Dispatch) – Lenape High School won the Deborah Heart Challenge for the 10th time in a row Sunday. Nine area high schools competed in the 17th annual competition at Pemberton Township High School.
Vascular and heart health? You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Moderate changes can make a big difference!
Several of the schools were in tight races but Lenape dominated the buzzer in the lightning round and never looked back. Students from each school faced questions on their knowledge of the heart, lungs and vascular system from a panel of Deborah Heart and Lung Center physicians.
Kate DeSantis, biology and genetics teacher at Lenape, was standing in for her team’s coach who couldn’t make it.
“They work hard,” she said of the students. “It’s all hard work.”
